I began teaching in 1977 at Prague Public School and taught/coached there for two years. I then moved to central Nebraska to teach and coach 4 years at North Loup-Scotia. In 1983 I came to Conestoga for my first 20 year stint as teacher, volleyball coach, and track coach. In 2003 I took a teaching job with Papillion LaVista Public Schools and taught 1 year at Papio South and 4 years at Papillion Junior High. I also was assistant volleyball coach for two of those years at Papio South. In 2008 I took early retirement from the state of Nebraska and taught that year (2008-2009) at Hamburg, Iowa. I returned to Conestoga during the 2009-10 school year and have been here ever since.
I have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
I love to continue watching sports even though I have retired from coaching. I spend a lot of my evenings during volleyball and basketball season keeping the scorebook for the Cougars and enjoy that contact with athletes and coaches.
I have been asked by a few, "How many years do you have left?" The answer is simple, I enjoy teaching and as long as I do, I plan to keep on keeping on!
