    Overnight at the Zoo

Overnight retreats are an incredible opportunity for grieving teens to hang out with other teens who “get it.” Campers benefit from the restorative nature of the great outdoors and participate in a variety of activities such as horseback riding, drumming, hiking, photography, ropes courses and a campfire. All food and drinks for the weekend are provided.

This is a TEEN-ONLY overnight and it's for ages 13-18. All participants will have to attend an orientation if they've not been through a program previously.

  • The Art of Grief: A Story of Healing

Summer Programming with Band of the Strong
Join us for "The Art of Grief: A Story of Healing," a four-session event designed to help families navigate the difficult journey of grieving through the power of music, art, and writing.
Each session will be a harmonious blend of creativity and reflection, as we use different art forms to help you construct your individual and collective grief stories. From painting to poetry, from music to memoirs, we will explore the many ways that art can help us express our deepest emotions and find meaning in our loss.
Our sessions will be led by experienced artists and grief facilitators, who will guide you through the creative process towards creation of your story. You will have the opportunity to share your work with your family members and other grieving families, creating a sense of community and connection that can be so important during this difficult time.
Through the power of art and music, we hope to help you find healing and peace in the midst of grief. Whether you are young or old, experienced in the arts or just starting out, this event is open to all who seek a safe and supportive space to express their emotions and honor the memories of their loved ones.
Join us for "The Art of Grief: A Story of Healing," and let us help you turn your grief into a masterpiece of love and remembrance. The four-session program will be held June 20, 21, 27, and 28.
