For those that might be interested, I will be retiring from teaching in May 2021. It has been a wonderful 44 years of educational service for me, of which 32 years I spent here at Conestoga. I feel the time is right to leave my profession at this time with the work in place, the progress we have made, and very qualified teachers taking my place. I will definitely miss a lot of things about teaching, but the students are definitely at the top of the list. Conestoga has progressed over the years and students are very respectful, eager to learn, and always full of enthusiasm for school, sports, activities, and just school in general. I have been so fortunate to have experienced so many very fantastic days, months and years here at Conestoga.
I thank my fellow teachers for their "team" attitude and willingness to try new things and grow as individuals and as a faculty. Yes, we are a faculty, not a staff. Trained to teach, educated with degrees that required many years of study, and always improving ourselves each year professionally.
I thank administrators and board members for their guidance and willingness to listen to new ideas, try them, keep them if they succeed, or try something else if they fail.
Now, as a grandpa I will spend my time watching my grandchildren grow, play, and succeed in their lives. A few trips to places I have never been with my retired foreign language teacher spouse are definitely in the future as well.
Thank you all and I wish nothing but the best for Conestoga always.
