Make Up of Missed Days

Wow! Like many of you, I am not sure that I can recall this much snow at any time in my life! All this snow has definitely been . . . interesting. We had about 3 days built into the school schedule to allow for inclement weather, but we have now missed a total of 7 days. (6 days for snow, and 1 day due to the water main break)
During the Monday, January 11 meeting of the Conestoga Board of Education, the board discussed various alternatives for making up the missed days, as well as potential make up of any additional days we may miss this school year. At the conclusion of this discussion, the following make up day schedule was adopted, and we will now be in session on the following dates:
1. Monday, January 25 cancelled
2. Monday, February 8
3. Monday, February 22
4. Friday, March 12

If we miss additional days, they will be made up:
5. Monday, March 22 School in session
6. Friday, April 9 School in session
7. Monday, April 12 School in session
8. Monday, April 26
9. Monday, May 10
10. Monday, May 3
It is my hope that we will not need to miss additional school days; however, depending how much you trust weather forecasts or the Farmer’s Almanac, our area has a good possibility of receiving significant additional snow this winter. In the event we would need to make up days beyond those listed above, those days would be added to the end of the school year.
