Conestoga Alternative Education Program
The Conestoga Alternative Education Program is designed for students who have experienced difficulty being successful in the traditional high school academic program. The program offers students the ability to work with teachers to design an individualized program plan utilizing alternative options for meeting graduation requirements. Possibilities may include earning credits through proficiency based independent studies, regular course work, work study, and on-line courses.
The Conestoga Alternative Program mission is to provide an educational experience for students who are more likely to achieve academic success and reach their potential in a non-traditional small learning community. The program offers the required courses necessary for a Conestoga High School diploma within a flexible environment. Located in Nehawka the Alternative Program is available to all CHS freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. A request or recommendation to the program can be made by a student or a parent, the counselor or administrator. All referrals must initially be given to the guidance counselor or the high school principal to begin the process.
Who benefits from Alternative Education?
Students with attendance issues.
Students who require more individualized instruction/ and or personalized attention due to academic struggles.

Besides the traditional alternative school descriptions listed above, other situations may arise in a student's high school career which may merit more flexible options.
