Hello fellow Alumni!
Upon graduating from Conestoga in 1989 and almost 20 years passing, I, like many of us alumni, have tried to get together with past classmates for reunions (10, 15, 20 years…), to catch up on what is happening in our lives or just reminisce about the, “Good Old Days.” While connecting with some former classmates or alumni has been successful, overall, it has been difficult to stay in contact with most of them.
After talking to many alumni, it became apparent that we needed to form a Conestoga Alumni Association. The association would serve multiple purposes. The primary purpose is to provide a centralized medium for all of us to stay connected and/or re-connect. Second, is to keep all of us updated on what is going on with our alma mater. Many of Conestoga’s alumni have remained in the area or have moved back to raise their families. Most of us realize that Conestoga has endured many challenges in the past decade – budget cuts, losing seasons in sports, students transferring out, etc.
However, recognizing the school needs our help a lot of alumni have already begun efforts in supporting and making Conestoga a powerhouse again in sports, and continuing its recognition as a great educational institution in the district and state.
Currently, a committee consisting of alumni and non-alumni has committed countless hours, investing time and money to get a new activities center built. This 7200 square foot facility is currently under construction and will be an impressive and much needed weight/fitness room (1920 sq. ft.), as well as multi-purpose room (4,800 sq. ft.) for school activities (4-H, music, wrestling, etc.), and community activities and events.
In addition to
working on improving the school facilities, many alumni have
devoted their time and efforts to coaching our current and future
athletes. Others have led many of our students across multiple
grades to success in extra curricular activities e.g. Destination
Imagination, where Conestoga qualified 5 teams for state, 4
finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd at state, and 3 of which earned a trip
and opportunity to compete at the global championships this year in
Knoxville, Tennessee.
I have met with the current Superintendent, Athletic Director, and other members of the administrative staff, and have received very positive enthusiasm and approval for officially forming the Conestoga Alumni Association!

Through this web-site and efforts of the Alumni Council we will provide all of us with the opportunity and tools to stay connected with one another and keep us informed about our alma mater. This site will provide all alumni and patrons of the district information regarding school or alumni related events such as class reunions, banquets, golf outings, etc., as well as initiatives such as the activities center. Conestoga has many fine and successful alumni. Hopefully, by coming together as members of the Conestoga Alumni Association, we can help in continuing to promote pride in our school and guarantee the current and future success of Conestoga.
