Board of Education
Regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Education are held the second Tuesday of each month in the Conestoga Elementary Building at 7:30 p.m. Periodically, Committee and Board Work Sessions may be held at other scheduled times. During work sessions or committee meetings, which are open to the public, unless specifically designed as closed session (negotiations), the Board does not take any actions.
Advance notice of regular meetings and special or emergency meetings will be posted at both school building, Murray and Nehawka Post Office, Murray and Nehawka Banks, and 75 Mart. A copy of the agenda will be on file in the Superintendent's Office.
A Note to Visitors
The Board of Education wishes to extend a welcome to all visitors. Each member of the Board of Education and the administrative staff is interested in hearing your ideas and suggestions. It is essential to keep in focus that the primary function of this Board is to make decisions. It is, therefore, essential that important business time not be taken to respond to routine personal questions and concerns.
If you have a question or concern about the operation of your schools, the members of the Board of Education encourage you to contact the individual school employee closest to the situation - your child's teachers, coach, or principal. Experience has proven that this is the most effective approach to the solution of concerns in the shortest amount of time.
School Board members and administrators invite you to share your concerns, your suggestions and your compliments with them through telephone, letter writing or personal conferences. If your concern cannot be resolved short of approaching the Board of Education, please contact the President of the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Schools with respect to placing the item on the agenda. A minimum of a 24 hour notice must be given by contacting the Board President or Superintendent. Information concerning speaking to the board will be available when the appointment is set.
